MixedMom manages the women-only forums. By now, she has probably read this and is authorizing you. If you are still not authorized in the next few hours, send her a private message. If nothing happens by tomorrow, let me know.

Hi,

I would like posting privileges. It'll be interesting to be able to have an adult conversion about race and racial issues online without having it degenerate into the usual internet nastiness.

Hello Everyone

I am an African girl (East Africa) and live in London. I came across your website couple of weeks ago and I love it.

I am from a country where the majority of people are african and I have never seen any racism until I arrived in Europe (where I had to indentify myself as black because of my skin colour). Where I come from there is no such thing as a "black person" (neither white, yellow, bi-racial for that matter) everyone has an ethnicity and identifies as such regardless of your skin colour, your hair texture ...etc....

I find fascinating the way people label themselves. So I got interested in "races" , I got to know the ODR, racial issues in the US, Latin America and It think it would be great if I can participate in these forums.

So if anyone can allow me to post comments , please do so and thank you

Era

Very Happy

Hello everybody!

I'm from Spain, and I find these forums interesting.

My race is european, but when I visited the USA I was forced to identify as white, which sounded stupid to me: I'm not a colour, I'm just the son of my parents and the product of the upbringing in my parent's culture, so I'm Spanish.

I would like to post in the forums.

Thanks!

Hi Mouse,

What do you mean by "mgm black mom"? What does mgm stand for?

EDIT:
Nevermind. I googled MGM, race and black. I figured out that it must mean multigenerational mixed black mom.

What an interesting concept! We could benefit from that in the U.S.A.
