If it were`nt for mulattos of people mixed with black and other we wouldn`t have been talking about multiracial people. It seem to me that eurasian are overshadowing mulatto`s debate. the media seem to except
eurasian debate than mulatto debate just look at cnn hapa and cbc eurasian debates but thires not mulatto debate.

From the video:

Quote:

"Are we the face of the future, are we what so many people are going to look like."

"Well certainly people are going to look different".

No. This is similar to another claim made that the "mixed race" group will alledgedly become very large in the future. I doubt that "happa" identity, and "happa looking" people will continue past the first generation; second and third generations decendents of these mixed race unions will most likely be white americans.

So in the future you're hear lots of white americans casually say things like " You know my great grandmother was Chinese", and they will not look any different. That will be all that will come of the current "mixed" generation.

The same will follow for today's black/white bi-racial people.

I agree. First, USAmerican perception of what it takes to be seen as "looking White" continues to change. Not long ago, most Americans would have agreed that Jews, Italians, and Irish did not look White. Today they do because perceptions have changed. There is no reason to think that this trend will stop. Second, there is a lot of genetic inertia in a large population of predominantly Euro composition. If Americans were to start intermarrying completely at random begining tomorrow, in three generations almost all the US population would look a bit darker than today's Argentineans and very few people of SSA phenotype would exist. Essentially, everyone would be as White as, say Sicilians or Maltese today.

Obviously, that is not going to happen in three generations because the endogamous color line is not going to vanish tomorrow. But the intermarriage barrier is apparently weakening. At the current rate of increase in intermarriage, USAmericans will all have essentially the same admixture, and all look White, in about six centuries.

Eurasians have an advantage over mulattos and hapas; Asians don't claim Eurasians as "pure" Asians, and thus Eurasians are free to be mixed people.

I will say that I agree with Phil, mixed people tend to marry people not of their heritage. For example, my wife is white, Mixedmom is married to a white man (Hey Tracy! Smile ), Ann Curry (Japanese/White) is married to a white man, Tiger Woods married a white woman, Dwayne (Rock) Johnson married a "white" woman of Cuban heritage, and Halle Berry is currently having a child by a white man.

It would be very interesting to see how many mulattos, eurasians, blasians, and hispanics marry into the white majority, and how many marry into minority groups here in the U.S. My belief is that if you claim a biracial identity of some type, you have a very high chance of marrying into the majority.

As a Eurasian myself......

Most eurasians that I grew up with( My mom is Filipina and most of her friends were other Filipinas married to American serviceman, thus I have numerous Eurasian friends) married into the white majority.

I'm one of those rare Eurasians who married someone other than white. At least in my case, 100% white.

I married another mixed person myself. He just happens to be of a different mix. He's black/Italian

As for my husband who is half black/Italian most of his half black friends (at least here in Chicago) ended up marrying other blacks.

Me and my husband are just the oddballs. I'm the oddball Eurasian and he's the oddball mulatto.

Instead of marrying into our respective community's majority - me marrying into the white community and he marrying into the black .

My son is a combination of a EURASIAN mother and a MULATTO Father. Why does there even have to be a mulatto vs. eurasian debate. Let's end it by forgetting the majority and marrying each other Very Happy I don't see why there has to be an us vs. them situation.

Most Eurasians are good looking.

We are accepted by both white and asian communities.

E.g. Russell Wong, Kristen Kreuk, Mike Shinoda etc.

speak for yourself mixedasian.

Besides this forum isn't even about how Eurasians look. There are many monoracial people of all types that can give mixed people a run for their money in the looks department.

@ Mixed Asian,

What about these beautiful mixed race bi racial Afro Asian (mixed with black, white, and asian)?
Some people may feel that the afro asian looks more sexy than the euro asian look in general. It is in the eye of the beholder. I will admit that the afro asian look is extremely sexy and powerful and good looking.

Singer Amerie Korean Mother and African American father. (three photos below)

Kimora Lee Simmons she has a Japanese mother and african american father. (two photos0

Blasians are sexy too. Kimora, Rhianna, Amerie are hot!

But unlike Eurasians, who claim Asian. You dont see Blasians openly claiming Asian ancestry. But thats another topic.

@ Mixed Asians,

When you have visible Asian ancestry you don't need to claim you are Asian your phenotype speaks volumes. Tiger Woods claim Asian ancestry, Kimora lee Simmons, Amerie, and others claim Asian ancestry publicly. If certain people don't claim Asian ancestry that is their life they have that right.

If that were true, then why have I heard words like Blasian, BlacKorean, etc.? Surely, plenty of people mixed with "black" (African, African-American, Jamaican, etc.) and some type of Asian are "claiming" it.

Proof that Rhianna is a Blasian, please? I don't think she is. Edit: whoops, maybe you are talking about the British Rhianna. I got her confused with the american pop star Rihanna.

True. Kimora Lee-Simmons from back in the early 90s when she was a moderately popular teenaged model openly claimed Asian ancestry. Tiger Woods does as well, and there's that defensive back on the Pittsburgh Steelers whose name escapes me. He was born in Korea. There’s Sean Paul too, but he’s not from the U.S. and doesn’t live here.

People of mixed African and Asian background in the U.S. are as likely to claim Asian ancestry as people of mixed African and European ancestry are likely to claim European ancestry.
