Where is the One Dropping of Celebrity Kids?

I didn't see anywhere where a biracial child was '1Dropped' or called black or AA...

Improving US Society? hmmmm
This might fit better under Popular People or Culture.

I guess I'm not understanding something, here.

I know that Jada Pinkett Smith's father is biracial. Would that make Jada multiracial or biracial, or Black, as she likes to call herself? Would her children be black or multiracial?

A lot of the times, I call celebrities not by what I see them as--but by what they call themselves. Thus, Halle Berry, who is biracial, is a black woman to me. Jennifer Beals is biracial, because she calls herself biracial. Shar Jackson is a black woman, because she calls herself black. Am I one dropping?

I suspect that most people do that. I recall a Gloria Reuben interview where the interviewer referred to her as "African American" and she corrected him saying, "I'm Jamaican-Canadian, not African-American." From then on the interviewer called her "Jamaican-Canadian." This is common courtesy, after all. To me, one dropping suggests imposing an ethnic identity on someone against their wishes, like Gates did to Broyard's corpse, for example.

Yeah both of her parents are 'mixed' the mother looks almost like Jada.
There is a difference in 'identity' and obvious genetic admixture. Jada is mixed as well as black so is Will and the kids.

What some people get confused on in the Popular People section is thinking we are saying someone's identity is Biracial or Multiracial if the 'mixed' person we post identifies as Black.

Posting someone there has nothing to with how they identify, it's just an acknowledgement of know/well known famous people. Weither they identify as White Black mixed Biracial Native American
