To my knowledge, Latino is shorthand for Latin American, and since Spain is in Europe, it obviously isn't a part of Latin America. As for Spaniards winning Latin (meaning Latin American) Grammy Awards, since the language is the same, and since music popular in Spain may also become popular in Latin America (and vice-versa) for this reason, this doesn't really surprise me.
Latin, on the other hand, can refer to Europeans speaking Latin-based languages (Spaniards, Portuguese, Italians, Frenchmen, Romanians, and various sub-groups of these). |

Exactly. Which is why some Italians and French I have met refer to themselves as Latin people. They are using it in the linguistic sense. It doesn't mean that the term "Latino" is appropriate for Europeans, who are not from Latin America. An Argentinian of Italian descent is Latino but a Sicilian American from Brooklyn really isn't. |

| Music artists from Non Spanish speaking countries like Brazil, Italy, and France have also won a Latin Grammy Award. |

So have Anglo artists (I believe Beyonce won a Latin Grammy for a Spanish version of one of her songs). You're missing the point. |

Latino in a sense is similar to the original use of Creole |

Due to the conflict with "MisterLawyer" who was simply taking the title of the topic at face value, perhaps the topic should be changed to Latinos who look more or less 100% European.
"MisterLawyer" did in fact post pictures of people who show visible European ancestry. |

I still question weither or not the people posted are Latino or Latino identified. |

Don't take it personal. I'm not saying your making anything up. I'm dealing with the Latino label.
Famous Latino with European features.
Jennifer Lopez I believe considers herself a Latina. Do those others posted consider themselves Latino. Christina Aguilara(spelling) said she is half Latina. Does she consider herself Latino? Bobby Cannavale from my understanding considers himself Italian-American |

I was using them as examples of Latino identity or people who may just acknowledge ancestry
Alright, I'm done Bischoff, this is about to get drawn out |

Charlie Sheen for all practical purposes is a Spaniard but his last name and lack of association with Latinos, he is usually not considered such! Mother was Irish so that was a great help (my own presumption) in his impact in American movies! With a name like Estevez (one or two of his sons do use that name) he MAY not have gotten far! I am just guessing here. It just means that those persons have less of indigenous ancestry or there are more Northerm European affiliation especally if they are from Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, etc
The assignation 'Latino' is a limited one in USA North America since as someone stated all the Latin spoken languages qualify as such! |

I thought that Martin Sheen's folks came from Cuba, not Spain. |

| Martin Sheen's father was a Galician who made his way to the US with a stop in Cuba on the way. His mother is Irish and he actually has Irish citizenship because of her. He recently spent a year studying at a University in Galway, Ire. |
