I remember when she made an appearence on the FNC show "Red Eye" she mentioned that she is an Italian American. Although with a last name like Davis she is obviously not a full blooded Italian and most likely only part Italian. So judging by her phenotype, what do you think her non Italian admixture is ?

Domenica is Italian for Sunday - I know that people naming their daughters with "words" (Serenity, Felicity, Apple, Cadence, etc) is all the rage now, but I didn't know it went back that far...

Maybe she is married to a Davis or her family changed their last name.

In this pic anyway, she definitely IMO looks like she could easily be of ancestral European and African descent.

This of course says nothing of how she self-identifies. I've seen African-American identifying, biracial identifying, creole identifying, native-american identifying and hispanic identifying women who look identical to Ms. Davis.

I've seen full blooded sisters with the same parents who look like these two women. Not unusual at all.

Yeah I am thinking maybe she is a Black/Italian mix but I am not sure though since when she was on "Red Eye" she referred to herself as just Italian American (she brought up the fact that she is an Italian Amerian because on Red Eye they were talking about the last episode of the Sopranos, this was a 2007 episode,) and not Biracial or Black. The overwhelming majority of Biracial Americans who are a SSA/European mix either identify themselves as Black or they identify themselves as Biracial. Very few of them actually adopt the identity of their European side of the family and just call themselves Italian American, or German American, or Polish American, etc. Unless ofcourse she is one of those people the AA community would refer to as "self hating" and "trying to be White".

That is a bit harsh. Many A-As are happy to "live and let live" regarding "racial" identity. And many if not most White academics in sociology and the humanities agressively teach the one-drop rule as both factual and desirable. When you come down to it, we still lack any replicable raw data on the demographics of color-line enforcement.

We had a conversation about this in Ethnicity in America. the looks of Italian/Sicialian(Americans) have a wide range, complexion, facial features and hair texture and color

Here is a fitness competitor Gina Aliotti, she could easily be viewed as bw-biracial
