Unbelievably a Utah company has an Obama Sock Monkey doll for sale online. They said they didn't think it was racist at all. This is the link:

This reminds me of the time I drove with my family to Disneyworld and we pulled up to a gas station in Alabama. In the window of the station were a lineup of black mammy figurines with head rags and the whole nine yards. This country is far from a melting pot but more of a stew. The gulf between cultures was never more evident than how big a deal it was in the media after the Obamas did a fist bump on stage after he went past the delegate count to become the presumtive democratic nominee.
