Even though Golden Brooks self-identifies as being black, many people continue to believe that she has to have some Asian ancestry due to the shape of her eyes.
Golden Ameda Brooks (born December 1, 1970 in San Francisco, California) is an American actress.
Height
5' 6" (1.68 m)
Trivia
Was a figure skating competitor and won several trophies when she was younger.
On Girlfriends, Golden's character of Maya is several years younger than the other "girlfriends" Joan, Toni, and Lynn, but in real-life she is older than all 3.
Her uncle teaches at Berkeley High School in Berkeley, California.
Earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology (with a concentration on "Media Representation of Minorities") from UC-Berkeley, where she minored in Theater. She went on to earn a Master's degree from Sarah Lawrence College.
Classically trained dancer. Studied and taught ballet, jazz, and modern dance.
Voulunteers with the Pediatric AIDS Foundation and AIDS Project Los Angeles.
Active with actors such as Danny Glover in the Robey Theater Company

That's Persia White, she is my 2nd favorite, love her
Toni Childs is no longer on she left the show, she was the full lipped uppity one who married the jewish guy on the show

| alot of black people have east asian mixture, some of my family have east asian epi..(there is a scientific name for it), those type of eyes do occur in African countries, not only in east asia, much to popular belief. But if you tell someone, they won't believe you or they may not even care. |
