Marion Ferreira passed away on October 13th in Los Angeles.
She was loved by many. Below is a link containing details and information regarding the memorial service.

She was instrumental in reviving Gulf Coast Creole culture, almost single-handedly re-inventing a nearly lost ethnicity by her sheer force of will. She will be deeply missed.

God rest her soul. Marion fought a heroic battle for Creole ethnicity and against a Catholic Church determined to "one drop" the Creole Mother Delille as a "black" saint:
