What ethnicity is Janice Dickinson? I can never find any info in any of her biographies. The closest thing I found was her insulting herself by saying she is a "mulatto with n***** lips" or something like that :-/ I guess I do understand in the 1970s, blonde and white was the look, and Janice was very dark and exotic so she wasn't very appreciated.

I remember her from back in the day. Back in the day being when I was in the 6th grade. She was on a lot of Speigel catalogs my mother had back then. I always thought she was very attractive and unusual looking compared to other models of that time.
The years have not been kind to her though. Self-abuse (drugs and alcohol) and bad cosmetic surgery have taken their toll.
Yeah I always wondered about her background too. |

Looked her up. Her parents (father at least ) are Belarusian. The family changed the last name upon arrival in the U.S.

| Wow, great photos. I'd never seen her in her model heyday! Her eyes do look slightly Asian. Perhaps that's due to her Eastern European heritage. Looking at her, she kind of reminds me of actress, Phoebe Cates. |

slightly Asian, I thought that was an Asian model someone was comparing Janice too.
Her looks as well as her sister goes to show, that there are Ethnic differences in European people, and those people we call white. |

I love Janice Dickinson! She's so refreshingly honest. I'm a fashion/model stan and I do recall reading her Wikipedia page and her mother's ethnicity had about 10 (literally) different ethnicities mentioned, I remember Japanese stated clearly. That made me proud. I then looked at her eyes and instantly saw it "That's why I like her", I thought. But somehow, it's mysteriously missing....I don't forget stuff like this, but oh well. If she doesn't want to claim anything then I won't force her to. Wikipedia is so tricky because anyone can write anything on there. Whom knows what she really is.

*sigh* race to her could be on a smaller scale than continental origin, in the same way Europeans distinguished between Nordic and Mediterranean...Of course, imo she looks like she could easily have some East or Central Asian influence. Or perhaps some folks from Belarus display similar features. |
