No Guns For Negroes, a 20-minute film co-produced by JPFO and CORE. The WMV file is 35 MB, so it may take a while to download.

I'm downloading the video now. I'd like to see the historical evidence they've suggested. I have already seen how, in modern times, the strictest gun control measures tend to be in areas with black populations that are equal to or greater than the national average. Sad If you think about it, it's not even something the gun control advocates are trying to hide. One might also consider who tends to politically run those heavily gun-controlled, minority-rich urban centers. Confused Yet, somehow, it's the other party that's full of "racists"??? Rolling Eyes

EXCELLENT video. Thank you for sharing this, Frank.

I noticed at the end that they gave permission for copying and sharing and I thought SURELY someone has uploaded this to YouTube. Yup. So, for anyone who doesn't want to download it, here it is in two parts on YouTube...

Today, keeping self-defense weapons out of the hands of law-abiding A-A homeowners is done subtly. Before the end of the Jim Crow era, it was done openly. Here is a message that I posted in another website:

Laws forbidding African Americans from owning guns were the norm in the 19th century. They could not own even hunting rifles or shotguns for putting meat on the rural table. Oddly, the most common problem that authorities faced was how to define who was "Black." Several famous cases pivoted on that point. In 1849 North Carolina, Whitmell Dempsey was charged with the crime of owning a shotgun. The defendant was blonde, blue-eyed, and of utterly European appearance, as were both his parents, all four of his grandparents, and all eight of his great-grandparents. But the prosecution argued that one of Dempsey's great-grandparents had a trace of "black blood" from some distant ancestor. Dempsey was unable to provide evidence to the contrary, and was convicted. (Any interested lawyer will find the case in 50 N.C. 11.) There were many similar cases.

Thank you. I did not even think to look.

There are many things wrong with Florida government, but some things are very right. First, this is the only state that has paid reparations for a Jim Crow terrorism incident.

Second, a few years ago they made it illegal for any county or municipality to regulate gun ownership in any way. Previously, every local sheriff decided who could own a weapon. The result was that only each sheriff's White cronies could defend their homes and families. Such racist cronyism is still the norm in most states. On the other hand, Florida gun permits today are issued by the state Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, which has a color-blind tradition of protecting consumers. Consequently, hundreds of thousands of Floridians of every ethnic group have taken the mandatory training (and FBI background checks) and been licensed.

Here is a recent story of one such man, Elliott Firby: Target of Sarasota robbery shoots his assailant. On this web page is a video of Mr. Firby's subsequent press conference. You can hear the reporters trying to "spin" their questions to make Firby out to be the aggressor, and you can see the police praising the man for his bravery and willingness to help keep his neighborhood safe.
