University of Texas' Dr. John Hoberman will share his views on the System of White Supremacy. Dr. Hoberman is the author of Darwin's Athletes : How sport has damaged Black America and preserved the myth of race. Dr. Hoberman's work explores how black people - especially black males - have been confined to & commodified as athletes and primitive physical specimens. He investigates how the accomplishments of black athletes are often exaggerated as triumphs over the System of White Supremacy and why black male athletes are perpetually dehumanized and domesticated - often at the same time(See below).
