Hi,

That's a great idea!

But why only mulattoes? Wouldn't it be better to have a union for all mixed-race people in general? Including mestizos (Indian-European), Eurasians, AngloIndians, Malasians, etc. etc.

well when start trying to represent every mixedrace person in the world you will end up behaving like the naccp.i rather represent people who are mixed with black and othere. i`ll make a site call mulattounion.com
iam already make a site called mulattoamerica.com it will be a news site like bbc.com.

I agree with the first part, but you said represent people who are mixed with black & other. Does that mean Black & Euro Black &Asian Black & Middle Eastern Black & Native American or just Black and white? But Mulattoe only deals with Black & White admixture

Also, outside of race or mixed race, what else would they have in common? There's no national or international mulatto culture or even mulatto identity. A mulatto Latino in the U.S. is very different culturally from a biracial American from Kansas.

Hi,

There is a problem there. The mulatto history (African-European) is similar to mestizo history (Amerindian-European). And because I am a mestizo and I belong to a mestizo society, I would like to give you my oppinion, if you don't mind.

For mixed-bloods it is impossible to have a balanced possition between the two parental "races". There is always one influence that is stronger than the other. In the case of the Mestizos of Latin America the European influence has been a lot more influential than the American Indian. However, there is always the syndrome of the "missing culture". Of the lost "golden age". In our case those amerindian Empires of the past represent our own "golden age".

In the case of Mulattoes in Latin America, the European culture has also been the most important one. Most of the works and achievement of that group of people have been done inside the Western Culture. And the identity of them is parallel to the ones of their fellow citizens of other races.

(Actually, the national identities of Latinos are usually stronger than the racial ones.)

So, the thing that most mixed-people have in common is the ambiguity of identity. That can be possitive or negative. In the possitive side a mixed-person is closer to be an universal being.
