A panel of guests will share their views on how Racism/White Supremacy is manifested in cinema. Dr. Martin Kevorkian (Author of Color Monitors), Khalid Patterson & Frederick Gooding (Authors of You Mean, There's Race in My Movie?) will share their views on how non-whites are consistently degraded while the System of White Supremacy is glorified and promoted. We will examine recent films such as Collateral and Hancock; although both works feature non-white actors in leading roles, White Supremacy reigns - even in how these movies are marketed. We'll also explore Hollywood blockbusters like Borat and Rocky, which would suggest that Racism/White Supremacy is always a big hit with audiences. I'm certain we'll make a comment about how "interracial relationships" are presented on the silver screen. |
