SMITH: 'HOLLYWOOD IS NO PLACE FOR MIXED RACE COUPLES'
WILL SMITH blames America's ignorant attitude to mixed race relationships for the lack of such romances in Hollywood movies.
The actor admits US cinema-goers wouldn't be comfortable watching a black man and a white woman kissing onscreen, so scared studio bosses have refused to incorporate the theme into their films - unless the movie is a serious commentary on the subject of cross-culture relationships.
He tells Britain's EMPIRE magazine, "The idea of a black guy kissing a white girl on screen is huge news in the States, while outside the US it's no big deal.
"Hollywood is happy to do it if the movie is about that, but they can't do it and ignore it."
