I've been noticing more and more topics emerging on various parent oriented message boards about the desire for biracial dolls that actually LOOK like the biracial children who will play with them. Here are some links to some interesting conversations:
It's interesting that more and more parents and other adults who are interested in finding dolls specifically with biracial looks are recommending the purchase of Hispanic dolls for their biracial non Hispanic children.

Here's another messageboard discussion about the desire of parents to purchase biracial dolls for their biracial children. I'll just post the link. Some of the posters have links to site that specialize in biracial dolls! I also noticed that some of the posters responding in this thread are suggesting the purchase of Hispanic dolls to capture the biracial look.

I've noticed that a lot of the BRATZ dolls have a biracial look to them. Madison and Fianna in particular.

Golly, do you think these parents will finally figure out the obvious - Hispanics are mixed-race, too? |

I'm not so sure when this fact will finally set in! I think that a lot of these parents without giving it a whole lot of thought, see Hispanics as a sovereign, separate group that is completely different in racials terms from "white" and "black". |

That's a custom made an Asian lady in Cali.

As of march 07 she didn't have any like that for sale but she's still taking comments via email and will keep you posted when she does have some ready. |

| I looked on this lady's website. She sure does create absolute gems. These specimens are definitely for a serious doll collector. Personally, I would be terrified to let any of her dolls be in the hands of small children. |

DucorpsToo, your post reminds me of a baby shower gift that I received from a co-worker. My co-worker made a baby quilt for me that she started shortly after I announced that I was pregnant. The quilt was so nice that I couldn't dream of using it for my baby! |

| I wish I had found dolls like these when my daughters were small. My youngest just turned 12, but she is a 5 foot 6 inch 34 B way past playing with doll stage 12 now. |
