Salsassin And Powell Situation (advocacy forum)
I have noticed the unpleasant situation between two and I know who is responsible but that is neither here nor there. I feel that if there was a forum where these two and others like them could hatch it out with less rules it would be beneficial. If people keep having to worry about rules and suspensions this could and does discourage others from commenting and posting topics. Salsassin and Charles Byrd situation was also unpleasant.
This will make the moderators’ job easy with fewer commenters and posters the moderators don’t own the site Frank does. You have to do what is best for your site, yes rules are to keep the scholarly forums free of false information, but at the sametime you going to have personalities of all sorts. Some personalities lure people into rule violations and suspensions, and when other poster and lurkers see all these suspensions they feel discouraged and want comment anymore. Other personalities are zealots, militants, racists, intellectuals, etc these types of personalities need to be in some type of forum with fewer rules.
When certain people or in this case particular person leave topic posts the site then picks up all kinds of posters and commenters but when that person leaves onedroprule.org and don’t comment or post a topic then many the posters and commenters also stop posting and commenting frequently. The site needs to have a section were people can go like Powell and Salsassin and have it out without all of these rule violations all they need to do is follow certain basic rules. This will help keep down the animosity and negativity. Frank you need to make this decision alone with out the input of many moderators this is your site. A moderator may show up one day and be gone and not comment for a week or longer. You need to do something about all of this animosity. I know what needs to be done and that is the above. Why loose good contributors to your site? onedroprule.org is a very good intellectual scholarly website, why let it go down into these types of unpleasant conflicts when solutions are possible? This is nothing personal againt Salsassin, powell, or anyone else. |

| Also, if I got one poster (commenter) on my website who is creating a lot of problems even if the person is within the rules, and semi running other people away and getting into it with other posters and commenters -- I have to make a decision about whether or not that person is worth keeping around at the expense of the the majority. This comment is not directed towards any body it is just a comment. The more diversity of posters and commenters you have the more people like the site, so don’t loose them if you (website owner) can help it. |

I will admit that Salsassin And Powell both contribute to this site is their own special ways this is true. One gains info from both based upon what they post sometimes. |
