Not something you see everyday on the streets of Brazil which is a fair haired child living below the poverty line.

That statement is seriously doubtful. We used to see poor blonde kids all the time when we lived in Brazil. There is a correlation between financial status and objective skin tone in Brazil, but it is not a very strong one. [See George Reid Andrews, “Racial Inequality in Brazil and the United States: A Statistical Comparison,” Journal of Social History 26, no. 2 (1992): 229-63 to learn just how tenuous is the correlation..] |

| Okay I take it that back, but where did you see alot of poor blond kids was it one of the southern Brazilian states like Parana, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande Do Sul, or Sao Paulo ? |

We lived a couple of years each in Campinas, SP; Sao Paulo, SP; and Rio de Janeiro, GB. We also spent a lot of time in Belo Horizonte, MG. |

Thank you...It's like saying there are no poor white people in the U.S. because all we ever see are poor minorities. |
