Here is the baseball player who some years ago in NYC made those racists & sexist remarks to fans who booed him. That's his girlfriend

So, the rest of the early arrivals start to filter in. I'm alerted that John Rocker and Alicia Marie are milling about. Hey, they know Deadspin! Right? They do, actually, and give their regards to the Royal We. Alicia Marie says that when she and John were walking through Coconut Grove, O.J. Simpson stopped while in the back of his white limo, rolled down the window, and hollered over to John Rocker that he's a fan of his. Brilliant.

Most other people would probably lose their minds from such a creepy encounter with the Juice, but Rocker seemed a little perplexed of how to take the compliment, shrugged, and appeared to accept it for better, worse, and weirdness.

"He's kind of fat now, " Rocker said.

They graciously agreed to take a picture and then Rocker requested that there be no altering with photoshop. "Don't make it so her top's off or that I'm saying "I Hate Black People" or something." Luckily, I would have no idea how to do such a thing. They ruled

John Rocker is good looking. His girlfriend is very pretty. I do not like his statements.

The question of this thread...

Some White guys just like women. Some Black guys ,Asian guys , etc. just like women. I remember th escene in that movie , Something New, which is still running on HBO, this White guy told this Black girl he had met on a blind date tha the has dated women. Some are sweet and some are poison.

There are White guys, Asaian guys ,etc. who do not like Black girls to date I do not see that as a prejudice. Many women, Black, White, etc., date the men they like. It is not a prejudice thing. I do not think it is offensive for a guy to say he is not into a certain ethnic group of women as he might not be atracted toa certain hair color, shape, height, etc.
Preference and what one is attracted to is a personal thing like food.
Now, I think it wrong if a person has racial reasons, prejudice reasons, sterotypical things, or nasty thing to say about a group.

Ho about this question. Is it odd or strange for something to simply not be attracted or want a person of their own ethnic group?
Some Black men will date a man , LOL,before they date or marry a Black woman. Some White guys, Robert DeNiro, Chris Noth, date Black women or non-White girls. The same holds true for some women.

She has too many abdominal muscles showing; the stomach is much too vicious for a woman; it needs to have a slight but gentle swell to it; too many weight lifting curves on her arms (leave that part for me to do). Besides she has an Army top on instead of Marine. Cool

In my opinion of course. Can't leave that out.

My private gymnastics instructor has a physique like the above photo. She's always particular about what she eats and does work out quite a bit. Personally I like that sort of physique. Whenever I watch the Olympics, I do like to watch some of the women's track-and-field events (i.e. the sprinters, short-distance runners, relays, heptathalon...) as I do like those well scupted physiques.

Personally I wouldn't mind having an athletic shape as shown above. (I'd rather have that than fat Laughing

) However some of those shapes of the women that I've seen in those "muscle" magazines look rather nauseating as they (as well as the men) have a rather cartoonish appearance. But then again, the phrase "anabolic steroids" run through my head whenever I see those pictures.

Since the majority of women can easily be distinguished from men I see no reason to actually let me see you are a woman. I know, old fashioned; even when I was in my twenties. Of course I won't go to war over what a women wears or doesn't but I think taste means a lot also. Then again, a lot of women and men think the hot look is cool.

And I still have to nitpick here. I see nothing redeeming about a woman who wants her stomach to rival some men bodybuilders even if she is doing the fitness routine and works hard to maintain the ''six pack look''; even though her boyfriend likes it; which has nothing to do with him anyway as she undoubtedly looked like that when he met her. I see nothing rewarding about her upper chest which shows unmistakeable signs of bench pressing (see tank- top photo).

At the same time I will agree those men and women with the ''popeye'' physiques are a real turn off too. But this is also called freedom to express oneself.

Finally, back on topic, what was it Rocker said about Black people that was distracting to so many (I don't recall) and how did the two come together in light of this.

I both heard and read his comments since he was an ATL Brave at the time.

He may/may not be racist towards Blacks, but his main 'concern' which he expressed in SI was more against immigrants (welfare) and people who do not speak English.

He's not the best-looking guy but they look happy so that's all that matters.

She's nowhere near as trashy looking as Pamela Anderson, Coco (Mrs. Ice-T) or Carmen Electra. She actually looks very sweet. If I worked that hard on my body you might be hard pressed to find much clothing in my wardrobe either. Laughing

Alicia Maire Rocker is very smart and has somethign long lasting going for herself other than just her looks. She is very pretty.

To be honest his description of the passengers on the 7 train is accurate, and it appears from his comments that he was unsettled by all that diversity New York is known for. But then his comments would have found receptive ears among many white and black Americans from places less diverse like the Midwest and the South.

Why is he involved with a black woman after making those remarks? Could be because he sees her as less foreign (being an American) than the other people, including Russians, he encountered in New York.
