Shouldn't the parties (or at least one of them) involved in a "dispute" decide when a difference of opinion is merely semantic? Why not let a debate run its course, as long as its civil, rather than micromanage discussion to the point of absurdity? |

No. I alone make the rules. Although I accept input, the final decision is mine. If this makes you uncomfortable, leave.

Because some people join online discussion groups to spout unsubstantiated opinions and argue with others who are similarly inclined. That is not the mission of this site, and I will not have such people participating here. That is not "micromanagement." It is enforcing boundaries that must not be crossed.
This site does not tolerate debates over unsubstantiated opinions, especially semantic ones, even if some members enjoy that sort of puerile silliness. There are many sites that welcome such debate. This is not one of them. Again, if you find our rules too constraining, leave. |

That says it all. This is not about "unsubstantiated opinions", "members who enjoy . . . silliness", etc. Its really about unfettered control. Its all good though. LOL! |
