You suspect more east asian admixture or more admixture in general? If it's the former, then I doubt it. Perhaps these people also have some visible euro ancestry, or perhaps these people just happen to look more asian by chance?

I meant I suspect Euro admixture from their Black (maybe even Asian side).
Since all of these Blasians have one Black American parent, and many Black Americans have mixed blood (either Euro or Indigenous) I assume that they are more mixed than just Asian/Black. Eespecially Crystal Kay and Tashannie, they can pass for mulatto.
i think the Foxy Brown is off. She seems to reinvent her background every couple of years. When she first came out she said she was part Philipino., then it was Jamaican descent. Now she Trini? I'm not buying it

Some really good looking people i must say , but i thought, from what i have read and seen of Blasians on Various online forums, that Blasians ( Black Asian ) was more likely meant to describe the mixture of Black and East Asian (Japan, Korea ,etc....). I didn't know that it also included the Afro/Indo admixture .

ms.mocha, have you forgotten that you can not always tell admixture percentages by looks? I understand what you're saying and it could very well be true, but it's also possible that these people simply look more Asian by chance, or maybe it has to do with your own perception. I think you're seeing skin color first, quite frankly.

They don't look mulatto at all! They don't even look like they have any white ancestry. They look half Asian half Black to me. I've seen girls that are half Ghanian half Malaysian that look like Crystal Kay and Tashannie. Not every Black American has white admixture you know. Stop with all the idiotic assuming. It's annoying.
Mulan, again you've got your imformation wrong.
-Sharon Leal is 1/4 Filipino,
-Tai Babilonia is 1/2 African-American, 1/4 Filipina, and 1/4 Native American (Hopi tribe). Tai, herself, confirmed this on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" and "E!True Hollywood Story"
- Sean Paul is part Chinese, part Portuguese(NOT German), part African
- Nicole Scherzinger is EURASIAN, not Blasian
And lastly, why are you posting pics of people who are a mix of black, white, and Native American?? This is the BLASIAN thread! Native Americans are their own ethnic group and should not be confused with the Asians of the East or the South
The Jets, Popular American '80s group made up of siblings (1/2 f Hawaiian, 1/2 African American)
I thought the parents of the Jets were Polynesian
I do not even know who the Jets are, so I have no opinion on the topic. I just wanted to clarify that, while not all Polynesians are native to the Hawaiian Islands, all natives of the Hawaiian Islands are Polynesians. Sort of the way not all Spaniards are Asturians but all Asturians are Spaniards.

They were a family group that were popular in the mid 80's. They weren't Hawaiians though - I think the parents were from Fiji or something like that. I guess I could google it...
According to VH1 their parents were originally from Tonga
Interesting. Tonga is definitiely Polynesian by culture/language, but it is a long way from Hawaii. As I recall, Tongans have some detectable Melanesian admixture, which Hawaiians do not. Since Melanesians have dark skin tone and curly hair*, this slight admixture may be why the Jets are seen as part A-A.
*Curiously, Melanesian children are often blonde until puberty.

I recall recently looking up the Polynesians, Melanesians, and Micronesians in my 1968 World Book Encyclopedia. In that time period, the Melanesians were considered "Oceanic Negroids," the Polynesians were considered "Caucasoid-Mongoloids," and the Micronesians were (depending on where exactly they were located) considered "Mixed Oceanic Negroids" or "Mongoloids."

Ok, take it with a grain of salt; and thanks for the dispute of validity! I'm no official source. And where are your sources?
And I know this is a Blasian thread, but the entire forum is about diversity. Many Blasians are more than just of Asian and African descent. Why not consider the rest of what they're mixed with? What's so bad about that?
