The banner ad that we have added to the top center of every page is 728 pixels wide. Since the banner is slotted between the company logo (on the left) and the book thumbnail (on the right) it makes the entire page about 1100 pixels wide. The consequence is that users with low-rez monitors (screen resolution less than 1280 x 800) cannot see the entire page width without scrolling. Is anyone besides MP having this problem? If so, we can move the banner higher to overlap the logo and thumbnail. Is anyone besides MP having this problem? |

| It's perfect for me. Is it possible for MP et al to just change their screen resolution or would that mess up other things for them? |

It depends. Some people have old monitors that simply cannot support much more than, say 800 x 600.
My concern is over how widespread the problem is. If only one or two people cannot go to higher resolution, then we probably should not worry about it. Monitors that old are nearing the end of their lives and, when replaced, will not have the problem.
But if more than one or two people have the problem, then we really must move the banner ad well above the rest of the page. It will look tacky, but I would rather sacrifice aesthetics to get ease of use for everyone. |

| It giving me problems. My computer is less than a year old. Moreover, I wouldn't want to change any of my settings. |

How bad does it look when it is above everything else? |

I am using 1024 by 786 in resolution, and my monitor is very up to date it goes pass 1024 by 786 and I can get 1280 x 800. I feel there were others also who saw it. Frank, you can put it back in the middle between the two logo Frank. You will just have to lower the 728 pixels to maybe 600pixels. It was not that far off but far off enough to the point of needing to scroll.

The problem is that in specifying the size of the slot for Google to use, I must choose among: 728x90, 468x60, 234x60, and several tall skinny ones which do not work for a bulletin board. So, in practice, our choices are 728x90 or 468x60. The former is a bit too wide for 1024 x 786 and I think that the latter will look too small.
If we stay with a 728x90 banner slot, I would rather leave it above the page, rather than force people to scroll. On the other hand, I would be willing to try switching to the 468x60 format and move it back down again for a while to see how it looks.
What do you think? Should we leave it where it is or try the smaller format lower down? |

| I say try the smaller format. If it don’t work out then go back to the larger. |

| The smaller format looks nice in the place where you have placed it. I can see the banner very well because you have it placed in the center. It is hard to miss the advertisements that the banner displays. |

| I think I missed the higher, larger option, but I like how it looks now. I am assuming this is the smaller, centered option. It is actually less intrusive than the other larger, centered option. Each ad is still clear and easy to read, but I guess it just puts two per page versus three. It looks fine. Is it still altering anyone's normal display? |
