It seems that when a non-African person has features that have a partial "African look" it is presumed that Afro admixture was not needed. On the other hand, it seems that whenever an Afro descendant has features that "don't look African" it is presumed that it comes from admixture. Tell me, why is this so considering Africa's huge variation?
Simple. We are speaking of a specific population within Africa and a specific descendant group. We are not adding Berbers, Somalis, KhoiSan etc. We know where the vast majority of Africans were brought over from.
In the same way, when we see a person of Western European descent who has more Asiatic features, even if the variability of Eurasia is great, we are going to assume there was some foreign influence that added to the look.
IMO, Nicole looks nothing like Lionel Richie, as another person stated. I would never look at those people and say that they could be her biological parents. Because there is no physical resemblance whatsoever. Lionel Richie is light-skinned but has very African features and hair. His ex-wife was very attractive but didn't look white or even mixed, IMO. I believe Nicole is black/Hispanic, as it is often said.
Why would Nicole look like Lionel Richie? If so, it would be purely coincidental since he adopted her. http://www.wargs.com/other/richie.html
