Okay, this is just embarrassing: When your righteous protesters show up at an event to pontificate on the evils of socialized medicine, could you at least make sure they AREN'T ON MEDICARE/MEDICAID or receiving free, government-funded health care from the MILITARY or VA?
How do you write your president and tell him, with a straight face, that

My opinion on Health Care Reform...the time has come and it is needed. We Americans like making things complicated with Republicans and Democrats not being able to agree and racialy dividing is always a nice touch too. With HCR, you can push the socio-economic divison too.
Private Health Care/Health Insur. Companies-leave it as it is.Whatever you get from your job,you get. What you do not get,you just do not have. Take it. Leave it. Whatever.
Carry your spouse and kids or don't. Get dropped, whatever. Different jobs offer different HC Plans. HCP are are different from each other as well. Whatever, just leave it as is. Let the insurance companies do as they do. Same for doctors, hosptials, etc.
Most people like and feel comfortable with their chosen HC Plan from their jobs.
Personally,I never take Dental and Vision. I work in a public school system. That is too costly and extra. Call it taking a risk. I am lucky to be healthy in these areas here, and when I need these services, I use MasterCard,LOL! That is how I go to the dentist. I have had eye infections, twice, pink eye from working with kids, and I just pay on my own for the appointment and eyedrops.
Medicare is there for the over 65er's. One must really have a supplemental HCPlan or private insurance with Medicare. Now, remember, one does not HAVE to apply for Medicare. Take it if you want. No one makes anyone take govt. welfare like Medicare.
Medicaid is for poor people. Be it poor people by choice or not by choice. It is a form of govt. welfare just like Medicare . People forget that Medicare/Caid are welfare govt. run programs. Listen to some of these people at town halls who forget that Medicare/Caid are govt.run HC and they listen to those scare tatics and really believe them.
Ex. Do you want govt run HC and wait like Canadians for weeks, months?
Ans. You already have govt. run HC-Medicare/Caid and Veteran's Hospitals. People using govt.run HC Medicare, Medicaid do not have to go to county/ state run hopstials and clinics. There are doctors who take Medicare/Medicaid. They can go to private doctors and private hospitals.
Ex. Do you want the govt. handling your HC plan and go before Obama's Death Panels saying who and who cannot get health care?
Ans. Well, we have death panels now. If you have HC or Medicaid/Care, good for you. If you do not have a private HC plan, Medicare/Caid, then you just die. There is nothing for you.
Now, why can't our country offer a HC Plan for TAX PAYING AMERICAN citizens. Many people are in college and over 21 yrs., laid off from work, part-time employees , etc. and cannot afford to buy a HC Plan on their own. Who can afford Cobra or a HC Plan on your own? $500.00 per month up to $1,000 a month for the family plan.
Really.
Our country should offer a Nat. HC Plan for these people.
I was one of these people before and might be a again.
WE all know family/friends who are laid off, working part-time,for a small business, non-profit organization or in college and over 18or 21 when their parents cannot cover them on their HC Plans.
How to pay for it?
No HC services for illegals. Cut back on HC services for prisoners.
Cut from foreign aid. Cut from Medicad and Medicare to stretch it for the TAX PAYING AMERICANS who are laid off, part-timers, in college, or work for small businesses. One govt. program for all or none for all.
Socialized medicine? Well, what is Medicare/Caid? It is a govt. run welfare HC Plan for SOME people. It is socialized medicine.
I often feel I am more Republican than Republicans and I am a Democrat. Maybe we should do away with Medicaid/Care. Maybe the time has come for this. Phase it over the next 5-10 yrs. Soc.Sec. and Medicare, for people in my age group ,45yrs. and younger, it is said these things won't be there anyway. These are just taxes we are paying. Do like Republicans say...provide for yourself. Pull yourself up from your bootstraps. Get off of govt. run welfare HC PlansMedicare/Caid.

Ah, you mean like the 11 year old girl at the Obama town hall meeting???

Question by a Malden girl becomes the target of conservative critics
By Travis Andersen, Town Correspondent
A question from an 11-year-old girl from Malden posed to President Obama this week has riled conservative critics who insist the girl was a plant by the Democratic White House.
The critics point to campaign donations and other partisan links of the girl's mother, Kathleen Manning Hall, who was an early Obama supporter and donated money to his campaign. But a White House spokesman insisted that audience members are selected randomly.
"The President asks people to raise their hands and picks on them,'' White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said at his daily briefing in response to a general question about how the audience is selected at the president's town hall meetings.
The girl asked Obama what she and other kids should make of the signs outside his town hall meeting in Portsmouth that were "saying mean things” about his health care proposal.
“How do kids know what is true, and why do people want a new system that can — that help more of us?”
In her online column, conservative pundit Michelle Malkin said "As we always like to point out: There are no coincidences in Obama world.''
The Washington Times weighed in as well with an editorial titled "Potemkin Town Halls.'' Online critics also found a 2008 post by Manning Hall on Blue Mass Group, a Democrat-leaning political site in Massachusetts. In the post, Manning Hall asks for support to become a delegate to the Democratic National Convention.
"I realized Barack Obama was a unique politician the first time I heard him speak, at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, where I was a volunteer. I was simply blown away by his inspirational message, and I continued to follow his career,'' she wrote. Manning Hall ultimately served as a page at the convention.
Reached on Wednesday, she denied that her daughter was planted by the White House.
"A 100-percent flat denial, completely," she said, adding that her daughter said she wanted to ask a question right before Obama began fielding them. The two discussed the question, Manning Hall said, and her daughter wrote it down on a slip of paper.
Manning Hall also said that prior to 2008, she had never worked in politics, beyond contacting her city councilor about local street repairs and other issues.
She worked as a coordinator for Massachusetts Women for Obama during the election. The group had 93 members and raised nearly $9,000 during the campaign, according to online records.
Manning Hall was also named Malden Democrat of the Year at a ceremony in March. She donated $1,750 to the Obama campaign, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, which tracks campaign contributions.
Manning Hall is listed a legal assistant at Looney & Grossman, a Boston law firm. Employees of the firm donated $3,000 to the Obama campaign, according to the center.
Tarah Donoghue, a spokeswoman for the Republican Party of Massachusetts, declined comment on the allegations that Manning Hall's daughter was a plant. But she took exception to media reports of "angry mobs" protesting against Obama's health care plan at town hall meetings across the country.
"They're American people," Donoghue said. "And they're citizens rising up against a change they quite frankly don't believe in. We encourage people to do it in a respectful manner."
Stacey Monahan, executive director of the Democratic Party of Massachusetts, did not immediately return messages seeking comment on the plant allegations
AND McCain, Bush, always used plants to ask questions.
Weren't the questions prearranged as well?
Tit for tat.
Weren't questions prearranged as well? The nonsense chess game continues and we are nowhere as a country.
I can say that this was not good to let this child ask a question. Coincidence or not. Can you say the about anything wrong with the GOP?NO! NEVER!! Can Michelle ,whom I am not a fan of , say anything wrong about the GOP? No. Can you say that this is just like when the GOP used plants and prearranged questions? No. GOP fans never call out the GOP faults.
Even if this was a coincidence, this kid or any kid should not have been called on. Is this kid or any kid paying taxes? Working? Picking an HMO in a new job? Carrying or not carrying the spouse and kids on a HC Plan? No. This is not a time for cute kids to be seen for a picture for their scrapbooks. This is a serious matter.

You are 100% wrong. I have strongly criticized the GOP, Bush, McCain and others. I have said that Bush was a disaster, the reason why we have Obama in the first place. I have said that McCain ran the worst campaign in my memory. They are not the issue here. The left wing Democrats have the White House, the House of Representatives, and a fillibuster proof Senate. So in essense, the GOP has NO POWER, but the PEOPLE DO.
Criticizing the GOP at this juncture to be seen as "fair" is irrelevant at this juncture.

They all do it. My point was to counter one made in the beginning of the thread and the same point made by the government supported media that the people at the town hall meetings are plants. Here, Obama was just busted in broad day light with a plant.
Too bad the GOP and Republican elelcted officials are not like you-Moderate.
Too bad Obama ,Biden and adminstration has not yet figured it out as of today that they must be Moderate. Set the tone. Then throw things back at the GOP led by Rush Limbaugh.

The thing is, I am "conservative" in the 21st Century sense. I am more of a Constitutionalist than anything. Today, more people whom are considered "conservative", can also be considered Constitutionalists. If any "conservative" acts outside the guidelines of the Constitution, they will not be supported by me.
Rush Limbaugh does not lead the Republican Party. In the interests of full disclosure, I like to listen to Rush. The thing about him that irks me is that he is overly partisan to the GOP when he should not be, but this has changed recently. My favourite is Michael Savage, who is a true conservative independent. He'll slam anyone if they need it, doesn't matter political affiliation, race, ethnicity, religion., fellow conservative talk show hosts.
I will tell you that if the GOP were acting in this way, against the people and the constitution, I would slam them just as hard. I am not, and have never been, a registered Republican. I was a registered Democrat from 1980 until 2001. I am seriously thinking of enrolling in the GOP, beause in my state (NY), you need to be registered in a party in order to vote in primaries.
Since the Democrats have all the power, they will be on the receiving end of the slamming by me.

I am confused. I have a chance to ask someone who is a Conservative what does that mean. I am not beign critical of you, but of people who are Liberal and who are Conservative. I think most people do not have a definition of what is a Liberal or Conservative. People just follow what is feed to them, lies, about the other party. What is a Liberal?
You said you are a Constitutionalists. I heard that lady yesterday saying how our country must get back to the Constitution. Everyone believes in the Constitution, Free Market, Capitalism, less govt. control, personal rights, etc. Problem we have today is that Conservatives-Republican fans and the Liberal voters do not know what they believe in. They only know what is feed to them.
As a country, we have moved so far away from thinking as one country. I do not think politics was this divided during the 1980's.
There is no balance. No checks and balances. No moderation.
I think and hope people will take govt. back. You get people in office and keep them in office too long. Officials side with what party is best for them for money and power and they rally voters on their side who believe they are actually IN the political party or club. Voters actually get brainwashed into thinking that party of their choice is looking out for them and the country.
Obama has a great chance to bring people ,the country ,to the center. I hope he and his adminstration sees this. HC Plan needs reworking. If they do not let go of this, the GOP is going to ride this issue out until 2010 and no one
does dirty plays better than the GOP.

People, even people who can't bother to get their facts straight before confronting elected officials, ought to behave better.
I meant to respond to this before.
You mean getting facts straight like the members of Congress and the President of whom have not read the bill yet (like the "Stimulus"). Like John Conyers who said he cannot understand the bill???
1000+ pages, and they wanted this passed before the recess when they had not read the bill??
So the people need to have their facts straight, but the elected officials who haven't read the bill do not??
The behaviour of the Democrats is a horrible example of good government. Trying to pass a bill which no one knows what's in it, trying to stiffle debate by trying to get it passed as soon as possible. WOW. This is an example of tyranny. Fortunately, there are many people who are standing up to them and for their rights.
