My comment was just that she looked like she came from them in her younger years. Brenda Richie not only has naturally curly hair but is just as fair skinned as Lionell. In those pictures I post you can't see her that much. |
What I'm saying is light skin is not enough to determine parental phenotype. I am much lighter than my father but you can still see certain elements of him in me. I don't see Lionel at all in Nichole. |

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Lionel Richie's wife, who is seeking spousal support from the pop star as their divorce case proceeds, has told a Los Angeles judge that the couple regularly spent more than $300,000 a month.
Diane Richie, in a written declaration published on the Smoking Gun Web site (http://www.thesmokinggun.com), said her monthly expenses include $15,000 for clothing, shoes and accessories, $3,000 for "dermatology" and $1,000 for laser hair removal.
The 37-year-old mother of two, who filed for a divorce in January, said that each month she spends $600 on hair, $250 on nails, $150 on electrolysis, $450 on facials, $500 for her trainer and $600 each on Pilates, massages, and therapy.
The declaration is filed in connection with a request for spousal support from the 54-year-old singer. The amount that she is seeking is not clear from the court papers.
Diane Richie also lists yearly expenses of $20,000 for plastic surgery and $125,000 for tuition at her 9-year-old son's Colorado boarding school, which she says she tries to visit at least once a month -- at a cost of between $15,000 and $20,000.
She reports that despite the pending divorce she and her husband, who married in 1996, still live together in a Beverly Hills mansion she values at $40 million, staffed by nine people.
"(Lionel Richie) and I had an extraordinary extravagant lifestyle," Diane Richie, a former dancer, says in the declaration. |

On the howard Stern Show, Nicole stated that her biological parents were both "black but with mixed backgrounds".
But nobody takes that seriously. The only person that refers to nicole as black, is herself. |

I guess as someone who really isn't anyone outside of their family name: Paris Hilton as well. I guess I don't either. If she says she is Black and that is how their family sees themselves then I guess that's that. Obviously her family extended family and other connections do.
Shelie E has never come out and said she is Latina? Nor Black? But she has made strong hints she identifies as/with Blacks... |

IMO, Nicole looks nothing like Lionel Richie, as another person stated. I would never look at those people and say that they could be her biological parents.  Because there is no physical resemblance whatsoever. Lionel Richie is light-skinned but has very African features and hair. His ex-wife was very attractive but didn't look white or even mixed, IMO. I believe Nicole is black/Hispanic, as it is often said. |

Oh, and as to Raven-Symone and Nicole looking alike? You're kidding, I hope! 
Both are very pretty in their own ways but there is NO resemblance whatsoever between these two girls. I don't believe anyone ever has or ever would question Raven's ethnicity or how she identifies herself. |

Lionels second wife who Brenda Richie beat up is Hispanic.
Lionel's kids with her look Creole.
If Lionel and Tiger Woods, look mixed, then I must look like my paternal and maternal grandmothers, White! Ido not. I do not look like my Latina looking father. I do not look like pure African like my maternal grandfather who looked like he was 100% African. He looked like Kinte Kunte. I do not look Mexican like my paternal grandfather. I look Black American like my mom. People take me as Black. I like the word colored. |

What does questioning someones ethnicity or how she identifies have to do with having a resemblance? They are both of mixed ancestry. A Biracial daughter can look like a Black mother or White mother. and so can grandkids weither the child has a child with a black person or white.
They have a resemblance in the face: the nose the jaw and mouth and the eyes.
And many people until they saw her parents thought Raven was or could be biracial. She has also played biracial characters even 'quadroon'.

She may not be biracial, but she's mixed some kind of way, at least with some Native American and European. I also think she may have so East Indian ancestry - something about her face.
In these pictures she favors Indian actress Vasundhara Das, IMO

Vasundhara Das, Raven & Nicole could all be half sisters or full
It's interesting how people tend to see eye color skin tone or hair color as a cancelling out on whether people look alike.

Facial Features don't always indicate admixture though.
A perfect example of how the human continuum of looks is. And how mixing people from two different regions in that continuum will result in faces that many times resemble people somewhere between that continuum with no admixture.

To echo Salassin, phenotype does not always express itself equally!
The last 2 show (from experience) a 'Latino' expression. By Latino, I am using a global definition encompassing Spanish, Italian, or Portuguese, which is different in phenotypic expression from that expressed by Raven Symone/Simone, an Anglo-Saxon mix which seems to retain the dominat African 'genes'! |

They do look similar but if each took a DNA test, would their major fractions (African, Euro/Caucasian, Asian, Aboriginal, etc) be that far off?
Alicia Keyes might have an autosomal result of up to 65% Caucasian. The Iraqi girl could also render a result of up to 35% African.
And they met in the middle to 'split' the difference, lol.
