black people who know you and your family. If your parents or siblings are
willing participants in assisting you, they can say that you now live outside
the country, that you have entered a cult or religious order, or even that
you have died.
13. Develop associations with organizations and institutions that will
buttress your new white "resume." Convert to the Presbyterian Church or the
Republican Party. Contribute to charities like the Junior League or the
Daughters of the American Revolution.
14. Realize that no one in your life (including a spouse) should be trusted
with your secret, except for your adult-aged child, who presumably, will
maintain secrecy because of his or her own self-interest in living as a white
person.
15. Avoid high-profile people positions or admission into selective clubs or
lineage-obsessed institutions like secret societies or prestigious co-op
boards, so that you will not be subjected to probing questions and searches.
16. Avoid sitting with or being photographed with black people because if you
have any vaguely black features, those characteristics will be exaggerated
and suddenly make you seem quite similar to "real blacks" standing near you.
The similarities will quickly become obvious to all.
17. If black relatives you have "divorced" are unwilling to support your
efforts, make a complete break from them, because they can too easily undo the facade you have created in your new community and new life.
18. To avoid the risk of giving birth to a "throwback child" with black
features, consider adopting a white child.
19. If having your own child is a priority to you, you will be better able to
explain you child's dark features if your spouse is a member of a
dark-skinned ethnic group. Southern Italians, Greeks, Armenians, Brazilians,
and Cubans are among the groups that fit this category.
20. If the members of the black family you have "divorced" are willing to
support your efforts to "pass," always meet them on neutral territory where
neither you nor they live, work, or socialize. Never meet them at your home
and never in settings that are predominately white or that are places your
white acquaintances might frequent.

adopting a more conservative style in clothing and speech are all simple

Background: This story comes from Der Giftpilz, an anti-Semitic children's book published by Julius Streicher, the publisher of Der Stürmer. He was executed as a war criminal in 1946.
How To Tell A Jew
Things are lively in Mr. Birkmann's 7th grade boys' class today. The teacher is talking about the Jews. Mr. Birkmann has drawn pictures of Jews on the blackboard. The boys are fascinated. Even the laziest of them, "Emil the Snorer," is paying attention, not sleeping, as he so often does during other subjects. Mr. Birkmann is a good teacher. All the children like him. They are happiest when he talks about the Jews. Mr. Birkmann can do that well. He learned about the Jews from life. He knows how to put it in gripping terms such that the favorite hour of the day is the "Jewish hour." Mr. Birkmann looks at the clock.
"It is noon," he says. "We should summarize what we have learned in the past hour. What have we talked about?"
All the children raise their hands. The teacher calls on Karl Scholz, a small lad in the front row. "We have talked about how to recognize the Jews."
"Good. Say more!"
Little Karl reaches for the pointer, steps up to the board and points at the drawings.
"One can most easily tell a Jew by his nose. The Jewish nose is bent at its point. It looks like the number six. We call it the Jewish six. Many non-Jews also have bent noses. But their noses bend upwards, not downwards. Such a nose is a hook nose or an eagle nose. It is not at all like a Jewish nose."
"Right!" says the teacher. "But the nose is not the only way to recognize a Jew..."
The boy goes on. "One can also recognize a Jew by his lips. His lips are usually puffy. The lower lip often protrudes. The eyes are different too. The eyelids are mostly thicker and more fleshy than ours. The Jewish look is wary and piercing. One can tell from his eyes that he is a deceitful person."
The teacher calls on another lad. He is Fritz Müller, and is the best in the class. He goes to the board and says:
"Jews are usually small to mid-sized. They have short legs. Their arms are often very short too. Many Jews are bow-legged and flat-footed. They often have a low, slanting forehead, a receding forehead. Many criminals have such a receding forehead. The Jews are criminals too. Their hair is usually dark and often curly like a Negro's. Their ears are very large, and they look like the handles of a coffee cup."
The teacher turns to the students.
"Pay attention, children. Why does Fritz always say 'many Jews have bow legs', or 'they often have receding foreheads,' or 'their hair is usually dark'?"
Heinrich Schmidt, a large, strong boy in the last row speaks.
"Every Jew does not have these characteristics. Some do not have a proper Jewish nose, but real Jewish ears. Some do not have flat feet, but real Jewish eyes. Some Jews cannot be recognized at first glance. There are even some Jews with blond hair. If we want to be sure to recognize Jews, we must look carefully. But when one looks carefully, one can always tell it is a Jew."
"Very good," the teacher says. "And now tell me about other ways to tell Jews from non-Jews. Richard, come up here!"
Richard Krause, a smiling blond lad, goes to the board. He says: "One can recognize a Jew from his movements and behavior. The Jew moves his head back and forth. His gait is shuffling and unsteady. The Jew moves his hands when he talks. He "jabbers." His voice is often odd. He talks through his nose. Jews often have an unpleasant sweetish odor. If you have a good nose, you can smell the Jews."
The teacher is satisfied.
"That's how it is, kids. You have paid attention! If you pay attention outside school and keep your eyes open, you won't be fooled by the Jews."
I recently checked out Otis Graham's book "Our kind of People: Inside America's Black Upper Class" for the second time this year!
I still haven't been able to finish it.
I was kind of amazed as well as turned off about how much energy he put into tracing back ancestry to "the founding fathers of America" in the very first chapter. He markets the book as this showcase of Black American suscess and talent, yet at the same time he basically hints around that it was all handed to the Black bourgeoisie because of them being either the Black "descendants" (or "favored servants") of suscessful White men!
Either way he kinds of backtracks on the whole purpose of the book. It truly only proves that White men are society/culture builders and these White elites have the power to make or brake you

After reading "Our Kind of People - Inside America's Black Upper Class" by Lawrence Otis Graham, I found that Mr. Graham has come up with a "Litany of Tips" for the "Rules of Passing." We have already discussed "Passing for Black." Graham, however, has come up with rules to aid those who choose to live their lives as "white" people. With A.D. Powell's permission, I have decided to list her comments which will educate as well as bring logical explanations to Graham's illogical points of view.
"Rules of Passing"
1. Passing will be easier if you attempt it while away at college, preferably

A.D.'s comment: "Passing" (preferably called repatriation into
European-American society) is easy when you are an adult and can move away from home and support yourself.
2. Relocate to a new community that insulates you from interacting with

A.D.'s comment: Brewton Barry, in "Almost White," says that many families just moved down the road to the next county and became "white."
3. Avoid cities like New Orleans and Charleston, where whites are adept at spotting light-skinned blacks who are passing.
A.D.'s comment: That is a myth. Werner Sollars in "Neither Black Nor White Yet Both: Thematic Explorations of Interracial Literature," gives the origin of the "fingernails" myth, the "Black Baby Throwback" myth, and others. Most of those Southern "whites" that Graham depends upon to finger mixed whites as "black" have a touch of the tarbrush themselves.
4. Realize that blacks - and not whites - are the ones who can threaten your security as a black person living a lie.
A.D.'s comment: How about "white person living the truth" for a change? Graham acts like "blacks" are a small community where everyone knows everybody else.

A.D.'s comment: Most "blacks" keep their "place" even if they "suspect" mixed ancestry because there are too many dark Italians, kinky-haired Jews, etc., for them to apply Nordic standards to every "white" they meet. Of course, the black ancestry in Latinos is obvious but "Blacks" are very careful not to offend them by pointing out the relationship.
6. Recognize the physical features that can undermine your new identity.

A.D.'s comment: If you are white, you don't have to be secretive. Latinos are damned secretive. First they are the Latino "race," then "any race," then "not a race." The Cubans claim to be "white" and "Hispanic" and eligible for affirmative action.
8. If your physical appearance makes it possible, claim to be of white
European background.
A.D.'s comment: If you are that white, you are of white European background.
If you have a darker complexion, claim to be a mixture that includes white European background (e.g., Irish, Dutch, German, Polish) and a darker European or Middle Eastern (e.g., Greek, Cuban, Lebanese, Portuguese) one.
A.D.'s comment: How does that Negro think those groups got so dark?
9. Never claim any ethnic group from continental Africa or Mexico or Central America.
A.D.'s comment: Is he saying that Mexicans and Central Americans are "black"? He doesn't have the courage to say it directly.

A.D.'s comment: This would certainly surprise a lot of white people with those surnames. Most "liberated" mixed-whites just keep the names they were born with.
11. Re-create your family tree by describing yourself as an only child born of parents who died years ago, and who were also only children.
A.D.'s comment: Actually, most Americans don't ask invasive questions about one another. Go ahead and say that you have parents and siblings if the question comes up. Have you actually met the parents and siblings of everyone you've ever met - including coworkers, friends, etc.? The "black" author also assumes that the parents and siblings would not also be "white," which is usually the case.
12. Think of some manner in which to "kill yourself off" in the minds of

A.D.'s comment: Most "black" people who "know you and your family" will be busy pursuing their personal lives instead of trying to hunt you down. Plenty of "white" and "black" Americans move away from their families every day and are not heard from for years. That is a part of normal American life. Also, the author makes the assumption that all ties with everyone are broken. That is a "black" myth used to scare people. Plenty of mixed-whites may call, write, or visit those who accept their decision.

A.D.'s comment: The overwhelming majority of "whites" do not belong to those organizations. Join anything that is not "black," "African-American," etc. Easy enough to do, since you don't want them anyway.

with your secret, except for your adult-aged child, who presumably, will
maintain secrecy because of his or her own self-interest in living as a white person.
A.D.'s comment: Most Americans do not provide full genealogies to spouses, friends, or children. Most families have "secrets" - the Jew, laborer, Gypsy, criminal, etc., and not just the "black" in the family. Your mixed ancestry is not a crime to "confess." The only reason why one might bring it up would be to denounce the "black rape" of people like Anatole Broyard, Jean Toomer, Capt. Michael Healy, etc.
15. Avoid high-profile people positions or admission into selective clubs or
lineage-obsessed institutions like secret societies or prestigious co-op
boards, so that you will not be subjected to probing questions and searches.
A.D.'s comment: There are few "selective clubs" in America that "probe" into one's genealogy. Most of them are based on class status (money in the bank, stocks and bonds, professional jobs, etc.)
16. Avoid sitting with or being photographed with black people because if you have any vaguely black features, those characteristics will be exaggerated and suddenly make you seem quite similar to "real blacks" standing near you. The similarities will quickly become obvious to all.
A.D.'s comment: Quite the opposite. Your whiteness will only be more apparent - the same way everyone asked "who's the white boy/girl?" before you liberated yourself. Also, do Latino and "dark" Southern Europeans fear being photographed with "blacks"? Hell, many Latinos are Negroid-featured or as dark-skinned as the blacks (including the "Indios.") I would say the same for South Asians. Note that blacks keep their place and don't ridicule them. The author is practicing what I call "Black Aryanism" - an assumption (true only in the tortured mind) that all "whites" are blond, Nordic gods beside whom all those "tainted" with "inferior" blood are mere mortals. It is part of the Negro inferiority complex.

A.D.'s comment: Guess what? There are plenty of "white" and "black" Americans who "divorce" relatives for one reason or another. If your cousin or brother becomes a professor and you are a factory worker, don't expect to be invited to the faculty parties. Don't expect your families to be close. This is common in cases of class (as opposed to caste) mobility and no one makes a big deal of it. Also, these "relatives" aren't hunting you down either. The "black" author tries to make it seem like the mixed-white is comparable to a Jew in Nazi Germany.

A.D.'s comment: Did it ever occur to the "black" author that the family
(which he treats as if they were pure black) is living and working in "white" areas anyway? That's what mulatto elite families and "officially mixed" families both tend to do. Again, no one is paying attention to you.

A.D.'s comment: The author has mistaken genetic whiteness for cosmetic whiteness a la Michael Jackson. If everyone "mistakes" you for white, you are white. If you looked as Nordic as Ingrid Bergman, jealous black-identified types would try to find something "Negro" in you to bring you down. Look at it this way. When a Greek says that you look Greek, he means it as a compliment. When a Negro says that you look like him, he is trying to drag you down because he believes himself to be the "ugliest" of the "races." That's also why he is so desperate to claim "white blood" to "improve" his stock. Also, mixed-whites and Mulatto Elite families have always had "conservative" speech and dress. That's why blacks are always accusing them of "trying to be white" and not being "black enough." Another "black trick" is to try and pretend there is a "black culture" uniting everyone they want to claim as "black." Since the only "black culture" that is readily apparent to all is black ghetto culture, he is trying to suggest that Mulatto elites have that culture and would have to jettison it in order to "pass." Actually, the mixed-race fools who want to be "black" try to jettison their middle class "white" culture and adopt black ghetto ways. The "passer" already possesses "white" culture.

Hi,
That's very curious and interesting for me.
I wonder why people, particularly women, around the world use so much chemistry in hair and skin, surgery to the eyes, and also so much colored contact lenses.
In Latin America the fashion of applying tincture to the hair to make it look blond or red is widespread. In here most women have straight black or dark brown hair. A pretty nice hair that shines with light. But they don't like it and insist in covering it with tinctures that gave the hair a deadly and false apparience.
Even in Canada, where large number of white women are very pale but have light brown hair, ladies don't like it. They insist to use tincture to make they hair look yellow like some russians.
In Africa the poissonous crems that light skin color are widespread. In Japan the surgeries that "westernize" the eyes are also common. And around the world contact lenses of color are used.
I wonder what will happens when people have the power of changing the aspect of the future babies resorting to genetics. I am pretty sure if that ever happens we would have an explosion of blond, light, blue-eyed people with western eyes.
Then passing will be widespread.
Who understand human beings. I was going to say "who understand women" but actually men, like Michael Jackson, are also in that game
Powell it's wrong to say throwbacks do not happen, they do but they are very rare though. I have heard of 2 cases of this happening, one in South Africa and one in the United States where even a book was written about it.
