Has anyone had any experiences with any companies that do admixture testing? The only company I am aware of is DNA print. I am curious if anyone on here has used their services and been satisfied or dissatisfied with the results they recieved, or if anyone is aware of other companies offering similar services. My wife did the DNA print test (ancestry by DNA), but the only liturature regarding the tests accuracy that I have been able to find are the company's own studies and experiments. I am not a statistician or a geneticist, so I find myself unable to determine whether their validation experiments are legitimate proof of their test's accuracy, or puffery.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

I will personaly vouch for this company. First, I have used them myself (that's how I know that I am a typical Puerto Rican mutt). Second, I know the man whose effort started the company. Third, they specialize in autosomal mapping, which I consider more realistic than mtDNA or Y, although it does not lend itself to genealogical storytelling.

I recall that a complaint popped up once in the http://afrigeneas.com/forum-dna/index.cgi forum. It was because the individual was found to have less African admixture than she had expected/wanted, and so she got all bent out of shape. The replies were along the lines of, "If you are going to get upset with the results, then you should not have the test done."

Not at all. According to my ancestry-informative markers, I have 80 percent European admixture, 13 percent Native American, and 7 percent African. I suspect that the African comes from my paternal grandfather's line, since family lore traces his ancestry to a famous hidalgo military officer who participated in the conquest of Chile, but who had been an African slave. I suspect that most of the Native American comes from my paternal grandmother, who was Mexican. As far as I know, all of my maternal grandparents' ancestors came from Spain (Asturias and Galicia).
